Business Development Representative (BDR)

As a Business Development Representative (BDR) specializing in the Nonprofit sector, you will play a pivotal role in driving outbound marketing and sales efforts to identify and engage prospective clients. Leveraging tools like Seamless, Linkedin, and Google, you will curate targeted client lists focusing on critical areas such as faith-based initiatives, Food Insecurity, Case Management, Donor Management, and Data and Marketing Cloud solutions. Collaborating closely with the New Logo and Customer Success Management (CSM) teams, you will strategize and execute a comprehensive business development plan, utilizing email, Slack, and phone communication outreach channels. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of activities to foster client relationships, promote brand awareness, and drive revenue growth within the Nonprofit sector.

This multifaceted role demands strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the Nonprofit sector and Salesforce ecosystem. By effectively executing these responsibilities, you will contribute to Prolocity’s mission of empowering Nonprofit organizations with innovative solutions and driving sustainable growth in the market.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

PRIORITY #1: Prospecting and Strategy Development:

  • Leverage Seamless, Linkedin, and Google to identify and create prospective client lists for outbound marketing and sales development efforts.
  • Heavy focus on key Non-profit practice areas of strength includes faith-based, food insecurity, case management, donor management, data, and marketing cloud.

PRIORITY #2: Communication and Relationship Building:

  • Develop and execute outbound email journeys for prospective clients.
  • Follow up on all qualified prospects to help set appointments for the New logo and CSM team.
  • Own pre-event and post-event prospect outreach.
  • Help foster new Salesforce AE relationships through Slack and email to encourage and promote the Prolocity brand in the Nonprofit market.

PRIORITY #3: Content Development and Event Coordination:

  • Support the marketing team to develop client testimonials and new case studies and help grow VOC collateral and video testimonials.
  • Stay up-to-date on Salesforce’s recent products, news, and trends to help develop educational content to share with prospective and current clients.
  • Engage with Salesforce users through Linkedin, user group communities, and social media to promote Prolocity’s brand and value.

PRIORITY #4: Data Management and Optimization:

  • Follow up with cold or inactive leads to nurture the relationship and keep them engaged and up-to-date on Prolocity’s services.
  • Maintain notes, leads, and all prospecting activity in Salesforce.

QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION | COMPETENCIES

  • Experience + Credentials: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. 1-2 years experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles.
  • Strategic Prospecting and Client Engagement: Proven ability to leverage tools like Seamless, Linkedin, and Google to identify and qualify prospective clients. Experience creating targeted client lists, focusing on specific industry segments or practice areas. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with prospects through outbound email, phone calls, and other communication channels.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, to develop and execute business development strategies. Experience in coordinating with marketing teams for event planning and prospect outreach activities.
  • Adaptability and Persistence: Demonstrates resilience in pursuing leads and following up with prospects through various sales cycle stages. Adapt to changing market dynamics and adjust outreach strategies accordingly to maximize success.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Proficiently utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) to maintain prospecting activity records and track lead progression. Experience analyzing sales data and metrics to optimize prospect engagement strategies and improve conversion rates.
  • Passion for Brand Promotion: Genuine enthusiasm for promoting the company’s brand and value proposition to potential clients. Proven ability to engage with prospects through social media platforms, industry groups, and other networking channels to increase brand visibility.
